This may be 8/9 stands in the foyer of a conference or it may be an expo over 2 halls with 300 stands, the principles are the same.
- No empty stands
- No stand staff talking to each other during the conference sessions because they’ve got nothing better to do.
- Only shoot during the coffee breaks
- Get the company logo on the stand in shot if possible

It will make the client very happy if your set contains shots of their client (the exhibitor) actively engaged in pitching prospects. It will make our clients’ client happy to see shots of their sales staff busy at the event. Conversely, it will make everyone very unhappy to see images of sales staff who have been sent to the event to pitch potential clients, sitting on their stand talking to each other. Eventually, you’ll be able to tell from their body language alone who is who, but in the meantime, check the company name on their badge!
This is typical, one person is clearly presenting an idea, whilst the other person listens. The other big clue that this scenario is worth your time is that the person doing the talking has the same name on their badge as the signage behind them!
This company has what is called a roll-up or “penguin” stand, more suited to a smaller scale event.
I havent cropped this, as to do so would cut through the company name, hence the slightly awkward framing!
Same show, same idea, this is a classic demo-on-a-laptop shot.
This is Tom from Verint, we’re on first name terms, great guy 😉
Again, classic demo-on-laptop…
